About this Class

  • Ever wondered how civic engagement data analysts use Google Sheets to streamline their day to day power engagement actions? Or what tools they are using for community outreach? More importantly, how does all this expand the electorate, strengthen our democracy, and build power for Black, Indigenous, and other communities of color, other marginalized groups, and working-class Americans?

Introduction to Data Tools is a free, 4-week, 16-hour course covering NGP VAN, WhatsApp outreach, organizing and working with spreadsheets in Google Sheets, and simple data visualization in Google Looker Studio that will help you add data tools to your day to day campaign and community outreach.

The course will meet Mondays and Wednesday from 6:30-8:30pm EST from Monday April 8 - Wednesday May 1st

Students will also receive access to a Q&A session at the end of each day, have the option to complete a voter contact final project using a mix of tools taught in the class, receive feedback, and join our alumni slack network for future job fairs + opportunities.
